IS THE SOFTWARE CREATED BY INDIAN GOVERNMENT ?

NO, Software belongs to Portuguese company 'Vision Box'

Hari Marar, CEO of Bengaluru International Airport (BIAL)  which operates KIA and Miguel Leitmann , CEO of Vision Box , a Portuguese software firm , signed an agreement to this effect in Libson on Sep 5 to introduce face recognition technology at the airport from 2019.

As this software is owned by Private company of Portuguese, thus, people are concerned about it as their facial recognition details are get stored with a private company.

But Overall, these companies follow good protocols.

WHY WE NEED THIS TECHNOLOGY ?

Airports in India - from the busiest like Delhi and Mumbai to smaller ones in Patna and Guwahati - have become synonymous with queues, delays and congestion.

India has recorded double-digit growth in domestic air passenger traffic for the past 42 months, shows data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

So, Lot of Time get wasted in queues, security check. It's not good fro India Tourism sector as well.

WHAT IATA SAID ?

IATA anticipates India will be the third largest aviation market by 2024. To make this a reality airport capacity needs to be augmented.

So to handle this, we definitely need such system which save time of people.
