 PM Modi's constituency Varanasi to got a double-Decker,luxury cruise, Alaknanda.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Alaknanda Cruise Service in Varanasi on 02 September 2018. 

This new service will enhance the experience of tourists and local visiting some of the famous and oldest ghats in the temple city.

This is double-Decker cruise. The Lower deck is fully air-conditioner. The upper deck has restaurant and that is not air-conditioner.

 This step has been taken up by the Uttar Pradesh government to promote tourism in the state.

This cruise will give a tour of the ghats of Varanasi.

WHAT IS ALAKNANDA LUXURY CRUISE TOURIST BOAT ?

It is the first of its kind boat in Varanasi which is developed at a cost of Rs 1 Crore by a Kolkata Based company.

 This is not the government ship.(Not Operated by UP Government). Though, government did a lot of cooperation to make this possible.

 The double-Decker luxury cruise will be operated by the Nordic Cruise Line.
  • The Boat can accommodate a total of 90 passengers. The second deck has a restaurant where people can enjoy the open view.
  • The Boat has a space of 2000 square feet.
  • According to reports, the cost of a trip abroad the luxury boat will be around Rs 750.
  • As part of a safety provisions onboard , the boat is equipped with life jackets and the person will be under the supervision of lifeguards.
Nordic cruise Line announced that - Non-Vegetarian Food and Alcoholic drinks are strictly prohibited .

TRAVEL AND TOURISM COMPETITIVENESS INDEX

India was ranked 40th among the 136 economic across the world in 2017 Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI) Released by the World Economic Forum (WEF).

 India jumped 12 places from earlier 52nd position in 2015.But it lagged behind its other Asian peers like Japan (4th) and China (13th).

 So, these kind of Cruise ship and efforts help India to improve its index in TTCI

 CRUISE SERVICE IN INDIA

Another cruise service between Mumbai to Goa, in India will be started from Mumbai in mid-October, 2018. This ship has been named Angria. This name is named after the Maratha Navy's Great Coral Bank Reef Admiral Kanhoji Angre. In this ship, 400 people can be boarded at one time.
